Sunshine Shiatsu

About
Jesse was raised in a form of Lakota Tradition from a very young age. His father was apprenticed by Godfrey Chips, a Lakota Medicine Man.
When Jesse was seventeen, he began his studies and pursuit of healing through massage, yoga, herbs, and diet. Unofficially adopted, Jesse was taught under the guidance of Richard Loomis, his Godfather. Jesse began going barefoot everywhere he went. Together, they explored the various mediums of alternative healing and studied under Annie Mooney.
Even before graduating from Smith Vocational High School in Northampton, MA where he studied to be an electrician, Jesse lived in a very small cabin with no running water, electricity, or even a path. The cabin was a half-hour walk in the woods providing a meditative atmosphere. Jesse has been to many large events where he learned social skills and how to connect with people of all kinds.
In 2005, Jesse was a co-founder of Fairweather Farm in Worthington, MA. He ran a booth at several local Farmers’ Markets which boasted fruits and vegetables as well as culinary and medicinal herbs. He developed a client base that loved the product and would return weekly for more. Since then, he has been an advocate farmer/gardener.
Jesse began studying Taekwondo under William Tuman in 2009. He attended Karuna Center for Yoga and Healing Arts’ in Northampton, MA in 2016. Jesse graduated from the 2 1⁄2 year Shiatsu program where his teacher, Eileen Muir, nicknamed him BB for “Big Brain”. Other teachers include Paul Menard, Suzanne Byers, Chris Murano, and Kenneth Rabinoff-Goldman.
In 2018, Jesse was a member of the Pioneer Valley Mycological Association and acquired extensive knowledge about medicinal mushroom species and wild foraging. Jesse took one year of a Homeopathy course at The New England School of Homeopathy in Amherst, MA in 2024 where he learned repertory, rubrics, and homeopathic remedies.
Most recently, Jesse is an avid member of Team Link Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in Northampton, MA where he trained under his highly respected teacher, Gary Alvarez Jr. He has also spent time doing carpentry and especially likes focusing on natural building. Some of his passions include wild foraging, nutrition, natural healing, and most anything outdoors that involves sunshine and hard work.
